“Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them. Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”” Mark 2:2-5 NKJV
So often we come to our devotions, or we go to church and we get filled, yet as soon as we exit the church building, we tuck our faith in our pockets, and continue with our normal lives. The world around us needs Jesus… And it’s up to us to let them encounter Him.
So many of the people around us are paralyzed. Unlike the man in Mark 2, we are paralyzed by things like hate, fear, bitterness, abuse, addiction, and the list goes on. It is up to us to break down those barriers and bring others to the only One who can heal, the only One who IS love, and the One who breaks chains.
It wasn’t the faith of the paralyzed man that healed him, it was the faith of his friends that Jesus recognized. We aren’t responsible for the result; we are responsible for our obedience. We should be praying for opportunities to reach out to them, and obey when God gives us those opportunities, and let God do the rest.
GO! Tell others about what The Lord has done for you!
