The past little while, I’ve come to realize again how wonderful friends are. They have become my family. They’re always there for me. Someone to joke around with, or have those serious talks. Someone to talk to when you need a listening ear or some encouragment. Someone to go for coffee with. Someone to not talk to when you just need to drive around, listening to music. Someone to reassure you that you aren’t a horrible person, when you don’t feel worthy…

It makes me a little sad, knowing that I won’t see these amazing people for an extended period of time.

But, their love, makes me think of our Heavenly Father, He is our Friend who sticks closer than a brother. He is our example of true friendship – the One who laid down His life for His friends. I am so thankful for the gift of human friendship, which is a tangible representation of HIS love and care for us. I pray that He would make me one who encourages my friends to press on in this race called life.

Beg the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God your Father, who loved you and gave you eternal comfort and good hope through grace, to comfort your friend’s heart and establish it in every good work and word (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
