so i found a list of spiritual journaling prompts on pinterest and i thought i would answer a few of them on here.

here we go.

the area where i need to put more trust in GOD is...

with my future… with my health… for my loved ones… anxiety. i so often worry, implying i don’t put enough trust in the LORD to fulfill HIS plan and HIS promises. something i need to work on.

i feel GODs presence most when...

when i spend time in prayer.

GOD is leading me to make the following changes / an act of obedience GOD is prompting me to make is...

ok, first i’m going to explain something about me, if you know me at all, you’ll know that when i watch a movie/show, i am in it. completely. like 100%. my emotions are there. my life is that life. so GOD has been telling me is that i should not be watching these shows that contain things such as sinful relationships, language & immodesty. i enjoy watching shows like Nashville, Friends, or The Bachelor. but there is just so much lust & language and things that are not at all glorifying to GOD. so i’ve really been trying to work on that. i have always known that as a christian, i should not be watching shows like that, but it never bothered me enough to stop. but this past while, it has been a big thing on my conscience. so, i have started trying to watch more CHRIST based videos/sermons/testimonies.

my enthusiasm for The Gospel is increased when...

i feel GODs presence. when i obey HIS Word.

i feel most distant from GOD when...

when i dis-obey GOD. i feel like i disappointed HIM. i feel dirty. unworthy of HIS love, so i draw back even more..

my calling in life is...

glorify GOD wherever HE has placed me, in whatever season of life. i want to love GOD and love people with CHRIST-like love.

my spiritual gifts are...
  1. mercy? mercy – closely linked with the gift of encouragement, the gift of mercy is obvious in those who are compassionate toward others who are in distress, showing sympathy and sensitivity coupled with a desire and the resources to lessen their suffering in a kind and cheerful manner. i want to love and assist those who are suffering, and walk with them until The LORD allows their burden to be lifted. mercy is founded in GOD’s mercy towards us as sinners and is consistently expressed with measurable compassion. romans 12:5 says, “rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.” galatians 6:2 says, “bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” i am sensitive to the feelings and circumstances of others and can quickly discern when someone is not doing well. i am typically a good listener and feel the need to simply “be there” for others. romans 12:8 says, “he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” matthew 5:7 says, “blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.”
  2. teaching? teaching – this gift involves the analysis and proclamation of the Word of GOD, explaining the meaning, context and application to the hearer’s (more-so children for me) life. The gifted teacher is one who has the unique ability to clearly instruct and communicate knowledge, specifically the doctrines of the faith. i long to demonstrate GOD’s love while revealing HIS truth to the world. i long to teach children in the way that they should go, to direct them to the path that leads to eternal life. ephesians 4:11 says, “and HE Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers.” romans 12:6,7 says, “having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching.”
  3. serving?  serving – slso referred to as “ministering,” the greek word diakonian, from which we get the english “deacon,” means service of any kind, the broad application of practical help to those in need. i desire to serve in ways that benefit others with different gifts and ministries that are more public. i long to have a heart devoted to JESUS and a desire to follow HIS command and example in matthew 20:25-28 which says, “but JESUS called them to Himself and said, “you know that the rulers of the gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. and whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give HIS life a ransom for many.” i do not seek recognition or a position in the “spotlight,” i just truly love to help out. i am content with serving in the background knowing that my contribution will bless the church, display the love of CHRIST to the world, and bring glory to GOD. 1 corinthians 12:4-7 says,“there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. there are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. and there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. but the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all.” acts 20:35 says, “i have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the LORD JESUS, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” revelation 2:19 says, “I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.”

what brings me the most joy in my life is…

when i am on fire for The LORD. when i am serving HIM, through serving and loving others. when my relationship with HIM is strong.

i am eager for GOD to...

work in my life. for people to see HIM in my life.

three ways i want GOD to transform me are...

one, more loving. two, more JESUS time. three, more glorification & seeing HIM in everyday life.
